If you missed the Fall Bridal Show...
...you'll want to check out these pics. The Alice JOY Design team put together two different designs for the show...our "Chocolate & Raspberry" theme featured jewel tones on the invitation and wedding program and the bridal bouquet was a combination of large creamy roses, raspberry colored cymbidium orchids, berries, deep raspberry colored dahlias, and curly willow...perfect for a fall wedding! The second "design" we chose for the show was literally stolen from the pages of a bridal magazine...the inspiration...an advertisement for Tiffany's...the sparkle of diamonds, the Tiffany blue color, and crisp clean black and white...the bouquet for this design was a cascade of dendrobium orchids, stephanotis, and white roses...a modern twist on a classic look.
If you missed this show, we invite you to attend the Bridal Show in January at the Best Western Lakeway. Alice JOY will be there and we'll be launching our new spring and summer 2010 invitation collection. In addition, we'll have other fabulous ideas for you to be inspired by...more details regarding the show will follow.

So in love ..... Tanya & Nigel 8.21.09
I was a little worried as I drove in to Bellingham yesterday morning and saw a few tiny rain drops hit my windshield. But it cleared off and became perfect wedding day weather. Tanya & Nigel's wedding at Hotel Bellwether was beautiful - the bright shades of melons and pinks fit this couples personality well. We had so much fun working on the flowers and taking the pictures. Here are a few of my favorites. There will be more to follow on our website soon.

Congratulations Laura & Zach!
A hot day called for sturdy flowers, and calla lilies were up to the task. The colors for this simple yet elegant wedding were cream and various shades of purple. The bridesmaid's bouquets were lavender mini calla lilies and cream roses. The bride's bouquet was a cascade of white lilies, and lavender and dark purple calla lilies. Watch for more pictures coming soon on our web site.

Congratulations Audrey & Stefan!
We are so excited that we got to be part of this amazing wedding. It is so fun to work with a bride who has a vision for her wedding. Audrey chose cymbidium orchids to be the focal flower - and we think everything turned out beautifully! Check out the pictures below...more to follow on our website soon. In addition to doing the flowers, Alice JOY also designed Audrey and Stefan's invitations and programs.

Peony Means Bashful
"Hundred ounces of gold"...During the Tang Dynasty this is what the Chinese referred to the peony as, because of the price for just one plant. A plant, which was once a sign of prosperity as it graced the Imperial Gardens, is now a plant which most can find in their backyard. Tricia, our floral designer, created this beautiful bouquet using all local plants. Just goes to show you can do a lot for a little.
